Annyywhooo, as usual it's a new month so their is a new Currently over at Farley's. LOVE the new Rule of Three what a great idea to network for other blogs.
The Perks of Being a Wallflower is one of my all time favorite books and now they are making it movie with Emma Watson in it! I'm super excited for the movie, though I'm usually disappointed when books are made into movies. Fingers crossed they will be able to do it justice because the book really is fantastic.
The Organized Teacher is a great read. I just started reading it a couple of days ago and I'm already looking forward to setting up my classroom for next year! It gives teachers both new and old different ways to spruce up their classroom management skills and a variety of other classroom procedures.

Hello! I think I will put The Perks of Being a Wallflower and my Must Read list. I agree with you that the movies are never as good as the books. It would be nice to have an endless supply of money to buy things for my classroom.

Good luck with your first year of teaching! When do you get to get into your classroom and start decorating?
ReplyDeleteMy advice to you from my experience this past year, which was my first year (which you may not need given your choice of professional book): Don't spend all of your before school starts time decorating like I did (I did only have a day and a half, but still). Make sure to set up your organizational system for the tons of papers you will get (student work, info about students from the school and their parents, many calendars of school events/responsibilities, copies you have made for your lessons, etc). I didn't, and I never fully recovered organizationally (proof: behind me sit two big boxes of random papers that I need to organize. Some are from the first week of school).
